December 16 Utah Field House of Natural History State Park Museum – Vernal
Paleontology Lab Tour: Join Curator Heather Finlayson at 7 p.m. for a behind the scenes tour of the museum’s paleontology laboratory and enjoy an opportunity to view areas of the museum not normally open to the public. HOLIDAY FESTIVITIES AT WILLARD BAY
The Cottonwood Campground is filled with animation, lighted trees, roadway lights and displays. Visitors may drive through the display or ride on a horse-drawn hay wagon at no additional cost. A concession service offers cocoa, hamburgers, chili, scones, s'mores and other items around a large campfire. To reach Willard Bay State Park, take Exit 357 off I-15.

To purchase by phone with a credit card, please call (435) 734-9494. Passes may also be purchased at Willard Bay State Park and at the trailhead when grooming begins.
Funds derived from pass sales are used for maintenance of facilities and the trailhead parking lot.

DEER VALLEY TO HOST
THE CELEBRITY SKIFEST
December 5 & 6, 2009
WHAT: Deer Valley Resort will once again kick off its winter ski season with the excitement of a celebrity ski race. Deer Valley's Celebrity Skifest will take place December 5 and 6, 2009. The invitational ski event pairs former Olympic ski legends with television and film celebrities for a weekend of skiing, live music and fundraising for the environmental group Waterkeeper Alliance. The Waterkeeper Alliance is an international coalition of citizen advocates who patrol and protect their local waterbodies, fighting for clean water and strong communities.
WHEN: The Deer Valley Celebrity Skifest will include giant slalom races on both Saturday, December 5 and Sunday, December 6 on Deer Valley's Birdseye run. The competition will be televised by CBS on Sunday, December 20, 2009, at 5 p.m. (EST) following NFL football. A Pro-Am race will be held Saturday, December 5, at 1 p.m. with the final race taking place on Sunday, December 6, at noon. The public is invited to watch both races which take place on the Birdseye ski run located mid-mountain at Silver Lake.
WHO: Some of the best-known legends of U. S. skiing will compete in this year's event, including Steve Mahre, Phil Mahre, Tommy Moe and Deer Valley's own Ambassador of Skiing Heidi Voelker. Celebrities scheduled to attend at this time include: Larry David, Bobby Kennedy, Jr., Max Kennedy, Chris Kennedy, Cheryl Hines, Gloria Rueben, Rob Morrow, Neil Patrick Harris, Dylan Bruno and David Conrad.
COST: The Deer Valley Celebrity Skifest is free to spectators. Those wishing to ride the lift or ski will need to purchase a valid day pass.
WHERE: Birdseye run is located at Deer Valley Resort, mid-mountain in the Silver Lake area.
Due to limited parking at Silver Lake, parking is available at Snow Park, and a shuttle is available from Snow Park every fifteen minutes to Silver Lake Village.
